Prof. Dr. Halil Ibrahim Bahar graduated from the Police Academy in 1988 in Turkey. He earned his M.A. and PhD. from Leicester University, Department of Criminology (UK) From 1995 to 2015, Dr. Bahar taught sociology, criminology, and victimology at the Faculty of Security Sciences and the Institute for Security Sciences at the Police Academy. Currently, Dr. Bahar is a freelance researcher in Ankara. His research interests include the sociology of institutions green crime, victimology, urbanisation and crime. Some of his publications appeared in “International Criminology”, “International Journal for Crime, Justice and Social Democracy”, and “The Journal of Population, Space and Place”.
